Minneapolis, MN – A cold weekend across Minnesota is giving way to a gradual warming trend, with temperatures expected to rise into the mid-20s by Friday. After a stretch of bitter lows, including single digits overnight, milder weather is on the way for residents.

According to the National Weather Service, Monday will see sunny skies and a high of 17°F, offering some daytime relief despite a low of 2°F overnight. Tuesday follows with a high of 18°F as cloud cover increases. By midweek, temperatures will trend upward to a high of 26°F on Thursday, giving Minnesotans a brief reprieve from the deep freeze.

Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the calmer weather to complete any winter preparations. While conditions are stable, icy patches remain a concern on less-traveled roads and sidewalks. Drivers along major routes, including I-94 and Highway 62, are urged to exercise caution during overnight hours when temperatures dip.

The warming trend is expected to hold through the week, with mostly sunny skies persisting. By Friday, Minneapolis will see highs nearing 27°F, although cloudy skies will begin to dominate as the weekend approaches.

While no significant snowfall is in the forecast, winds may pick up slightly by Thursday night, reaching speeds of 10 mph. Wind chills could still feel several degrees cooler during early mornings and evenings.

For those planning weekend activities, Saturday looks to maintain highs in the mid-20s with mostly clear skies, ensuring safe travel and outdoor conditions across the region.

Stay tuned for regular updates from the National Weather Service for any changes in the forecast.
