St. Cloud, MN – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for several counties in Minnesota and Wisconsin, with snow and high winds creating hazardous travel conditions. The advisory, issued by the National Weather Service (NWS), lasts through Sunday evening.

According to the NWS, up to 4 inches of additional snow is expected across areas including Stearns, Benton, Morrison, and Barron counties. Winds are also expected to gust as high as 35 mph, further reducing visibility and complicating travel. In Wisconsin, counties such as Polk and Rusk are similarly affected, with advisories in place until 6 p.m. Sunday.

The NWS warns that roads are likely to remain slippery through the weekend. Authorities recommend slowing down and using caution while driving. Road conditions can be monitored via 511mn.org in Minnesota and 511wi.gov in Wisconsin for updates.

Residents should also prepare for potential delays or disruptions due to weather. Power outages remain a concern in areas prone to high winds. Those venturing outside are urged to dress warmly and remain vigilant about icy patches.

The advisory highlights the importance of safety during this ongoing weather event. Officials emphasize minimizing travel whenever possible and ensuring vehicles are equipped with emergency supplies.

Snowfall is expected to taper off Sunday evening. However, lingering impacts, including snow-packed roads, may persist into Monday morning. Additional updates from local authorities and the NWS are anticipated as the storm progresses.
