Minnesota – Dense fog and freezing conditions are creating hazardous driving conditions across portions of the state this morning. A Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 11 a.m., with visibility expected to drop to a quarter mile or less.

According to the National Weather Service in the Twin Cities, freezing fog has combined with sub-freezing temperatures, creating the risk of icy roads and untreated surfaces. Drivers are urged to use headlights, reduce speed, and leave extra stopping distance. The advisory impacts central, south-central, and east-central Minnesota, including the Twin Cities metro area and major highways like I-94, I-35, and Highway 52.

Foggy and cloudy conditions will persist throughout the day, with temperatures reaching highs between 30 and 35 degrees. By Monday, the region can expect continued overcast skies with a chance of light flurries, keeping highs in the mid-30s.

Looking ahead, the weather pattern will shift slightly on Tuesday as light snow becomes possible in the afternoon, with a 50% chance of accumulation. Highs will dip to the 20s as colder air filters in. Wednesday will bring clearer skies but colder temperatures, with highs only reaching 10 to 20 degrees, marking a notable drop for the region.

Residents should stay alert to shifting road conditions throughout the week and monitor updates from local authorities. The potential for snow and freezing temperatures through midweek may impact commutes and travel.
