Miami, FL — Strong winds, rip current risks, and scattered showers will impact South Florida beaches through Monday, creating hazardous conditions for residents and visitors. Beachgoers in Miami-Dade County are urged to remain cautious due to elevated rip current risks, which will persist into early this week.

According to the National Weather Service in Miami, the rip current risk will remain high through Monday evening along coastal Miami-Dade. Wind gusts from the northeast could reach 29 mph, further elevating the hazard. Swimmers are advised to stay near lifeguard-patrolled beaches, avoid rough waters, and use caution when entering the ocean.

Beyond rip current concerns, the five-day forecast shows breezy and unsettled weather across South Florida. A 20 to 50 percent chance of showers will develop daily, with peak chances on Tuesday and Wednesday. Temperatures will remain mild, with daytime highs hovering near 78 to 81 degrees and overnight lows settling at 73°F. Winds will maintain speeds between 15 to 22 mph, adding to coastal concerns.

Residents should prepare for potential weather impacts throughout the week, especially along Atlantic beaches, where large breaking waves between 6 to 10 feet may persist. Hazardous marine conditions are also expected for boaters, with seas reaching up to 11 feet offshore.

Those planning to visit South Florida beaches are encouraged to monitor updates from the National Weather Service and follow safety guidelines for rip currents. Remember: if caught in a rip current, float and swim parallel to the shore until free.

Stay tuned for further updates as conditions evolve.
