Milwaukee, WI – A severe cold weather advisory remains in effect until noon Tuesday across southeastern Wisconsin, including Milwaukee, Racine, and Kenosha. Wind chill values will plummet to as low as -30°, posing a significant risk of frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.

According to the National Weather Service, the coldest temperatures are expected late Monday into early Tuesday, with actual air temperatures dropping below zero. Winds of 10-15 mph will push wind chills to life-threatening levels. An extreme cold warning may be issued for parts of the area if conditions worsen.

Travelers along I-94 and other major routes should take precautions to ensure safety. Those heading outdoors should wear multiple layers, hats, gloves, and insulated boots. Officials also advise checking on elderly neighbors and ensuring pets are brought indoors.

The bitter cold will persist into Wednesday morning, with slight moderation midweek as temperatures climb into the teens. By Thursday, southeastern Wisconsin could see highs in the upper 20s, offering a brief reprieve from subzero conditions.

Residents should remain vigilant, limit outdoor exposure, and prepare vehicles for the extreme cold. For updates, visit the National Weather Service website or monitor local alerts.
