Milwaukee, WI – An arctic front is set to sweep through Wisconsin starting Tuesday night, bringing bitter cold and a chance of snow. Wind chills could plummet to -20°F by Wednesday night, creating dangerous conditions for anyone exposed to the cold.

According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday will see mostly cloudy skies with a high near 34°F. By Tuesday night, temperatures will dip into the low 20s, with northwest winds gusting up to 20 mph. Snow chances increase Wednesday afternoon as the arctic front strengthens, creating slick conditions on area roadways.

Drivers on I-94 and other major highways should prepare for potential delays and reduced visibility as snow and winds pick up. Wednesday’s high will struggle to reach 28°F, and wind gusts as high as 30 mph could cause hazardous wind chills. The coldest temperatures will hit Wednesday night into Thursday morning, with lows in the single digits and frostbite risks in under 30 minutes.

The bitter cold continues Thursday, with highs only reaching 14°F and gusty winds persisting throughout the day. Slight warming is expected Friday, but temperatures will still remain well below freezing.

Residents are urged to limit time outdoors, cover exposed skin, and check on vulnerable neighbors. Stay tuned to local updates for changes to the forecast or alerts.
