St. Louis, MO – Light snow and cold temperatures will linger across northeast Missouri and west-central Illinois today, bringing minor impacts to the region. Forecasters expect a 40-50% chance of scattered flurries beginning this afternoon, with up to a quarter-inch of snow accumulation possible.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), temperatures will rebound slightly from recent lows, climbing to highs near 35°F today before dropping to 22°F tonight. Flurries may persist overnight, especially along I-70 and surrounding areas. Residents are urged to use caution while driving, as slick patches could develop on untreated roads.
Thursday will bring clearer skies but colder air, with daytime highs reaching only 29°F. Breezy northwest winds could make it feel even colder, prompting residents to bundle up for outdoor activities.
Looking ahead, Friday and Saturday will bring warmer conditions and dry weather. Highs are forecasted to reach 35°F Friday and near 47°F Saturday, offering a much-needed break from the recent chill.
The weekend will also see partly sunny skies, making it an ideal time to enjoy outdoor activities. By Monday, temperatures will continue their upward trend, with highs in the low 40s expected.
Residents are encouraged to monitor updates from the NWS for any changes to the forecast. Drivers should remain cautious as flurries persist and prepare for colder air over the next two days.
