Aurora, Ill. — The City of Aurora Government announced on Thursday, May 29, that the 2025 Midwest Film Festival will stop in Aurora. The film festival will take place on June 14 in Aurora at the Copley Theatre from 10:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Teaming up with the Aurora City of Lights Film Festival, the Midwest Film Festival Roadshow will include trolley transportation around downtown Aurora, brunch at Two Brothers and admission to Copley Theatre. The ticket price also covers a roundtrip ticket from Chicago to Aurora for those not local. Aurora residents and surrounding areas can purchase a discounted ticket without the train ride. Following the showings, there will be an after party for ticket holders at Craft Urban Aurora.
The Midwest Film Festival is a not-for-profit organization to showcase regionally produced cinema. It is the only year-round film festival focused on Midwest filmmakers in the United States. It is partially supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council, which is funded by the National Endowment for the Arts. The Midwest Film Fest also receives a CityArt Grant from Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs & Special Events.
The 2025 City of Lights Film Festival will run from September 18 through 20. This year will be the third annual film festival.
