St. Louis, MO – Frost and freeze warnings have been issued across much of the Midwest, including Illinois, Missouri, and Indiana, with conditions expected to impact sensitive outdoor vegetation overnight and into Wednesday morning. The National Weather Service advises residents to take precautions to protect plants and other outdoor items.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), temperatures will drop to near or below freezing levels in areas under the freeze warning. This includes regions stretching from central Missouri through southern Illinois and into Indiana. Additionally, parts of Kentucky, Ohio, and Tennessee are under a frost advisory, with slightly milder but still potentially damaging conditions expected.

Experts recommend covering plants or bringing them indoors to prevent frost damage. Farmers and gardeners should take extra precautions, as crops and sensitive vegetation could be harmed by prolonged exposure to freezing temperatures. NWS urges residents to prepare tonight and to expect cold conditions early Wednesday morning.

This frost and freeze pattern is expected to clear by late Wednesday, but continued monitoring of temperatures is recommended for the rest of the week.
