Nashville, TN – A cold front sweeping through Middle Tennessee today is bringing gusty winds, dropping wind chills into the low 30s. Morning commuters should prepare for west winds of up to 30 mph, creating challenging conditions, particularly along I-40 and other major routes. Daytime highs will struggle to reach the mid-40s.

According to the National Weather Service, tonight’s conditions will bring increasing clouds, with patchy frost forming after midnight. Areas like Crossville and Jamestown on the Cumberland Plateau could see light snow showers overnight, with a dusting to an inch possible.

Friday’s temperatures will slightly improve, reaching highs near 50°F under partly sunny skies. Frost may develop again early Saturday morning as temperatures dip into the mid-30s. Those with sensitive plants should take precautions to protect them tonight and tomorrow.

Looking ahead, the weekend promises milder weather. Saturday will see highs near 56°F and calm winds, with Sunday warming into the mid-60s under mostly sunny skies. Rain chances return late Sunday night into Monday, with showers expected to develop after midnight and persist through the day.

Drivers should use caution today due to high winds, especially near overpasses and open areas. Keep updated with the latest forecasts to stay prepared for tonight’s frost and potential snow in higher elevations.
