Harrisburg, Pa. – Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms could bring up to an inch of rain across Pennsylvania through Monday as a cold front sweeps across the region. Some of the heaviest downpours are expected to remain terrain-focused this afternoon before rainfall becomes more widespread Sunday into Monday.

According to the National Weather Service Middle Atlantic River Forecast Center, rainfall amounts through Monday morning will range between a quarter-inch and one inch. While no major flooding concerns are anticipated, brief heavy showers could cause small rises on streams and low-lying creeks.

The highest rainfall totals are expected in central and northern parts of the state, including Harrisburg, Williamsport, and Scranton, where localized thunderstorms may produce higher amounts. Motorists are advised to use caution on wet roads, especially in rural and mountainous areas where quick downpours can limit visibility.

Showers are expected to taper by late Monday, though unsettled weather could return midweek. River flood concerns remain low, but residents are encouraged to monitor conditions as additional rainfall patterns develop.
