Bedford Township, MI – A 37-year-old woman was arrested early Thursday after allegedly stabbing her husband during a domestic dispute on the 6800 block of S. Telegraph Rd.
At approximately 2:20 a.m., Monroe County Central Dispatch received multiple calls from a man who initially refused to cooperate, asking officers to respond without giving full details. Eventually, the caller revealed he had been stabbed, prompting an immediate response from sheriff’s deputies.
According to Monroe County Sheriff Troy Goodnough, deputies arrived to find the victim with a knife wound to his hand. Investigators determined that the man and his wife had argued, leading to the alleged assault. Police report that the woman allegedly grabbed a knife during the confrontation and stabbed her husband.
The woman was taken into custody and booked at the Monroe County Jail. She faces charges of assault with intent to do great bodily harm, less than murder. Her name remains undisclosed pending formal arraignment in Monroe County’s First District Court.
Sheriff Goodnough praised Central Dispatch staff for swiftly securing medical assistance, despite the initial difficulty with the caller. Authorities continue to investigate the incident, led by Deputy John Dyda of the Uniformed Services Division.
