Detroit, MI – A winter storm is set to bring hazardous conditions to southeastern Michigan tonight, creating a dangerous Thursday morning commute. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory from 10 p.m. Wednesday to 9 a.m. Thursday, warning of snow, sleet, and freezing rain across the region.

According to the National Weather Service Detroit/Pontiac, snow will begin late Wednesday evening, transitioning into a mix of sleet and freezing rain after midnight. Ice accumulations of up to one-tenth of an inch are possible, with roads, bridges, and overpasses becoming slick.

Travelers should prepare for treacherous conditions Thursday morning, especially on major routes like I-75, I-94, and M-14. Drivers are urged to slow down, use caution, and check Michigan Department of Transportation updates before heading out.

Beyond Thursday, another winter storm could bring accumulating snow this weekend, with a strong system developing Saturday night into Sunday. Temperatures will remain cold, with highs near 30°F through the weekend.

Residents should stay alert for further weather updates and prepare for icy sidewalks, slippery roads, and potential delays over the next few days.
