Grand Rapids, MI – A frigid start to the weekend in Michigan will give way to a warming trend as an arctic front moves out. Temperatures will begin in the teens Thursday night but will rise steadily through the weekend, reaching near 40 degrees by Monday.

According to the National Weather Service, scattered snow showers will taper off early Thursday, with mostly cloudy conditions persisting into Friday. Highs will reach the upper 20s Friday, while overnight lows will dip to 17 degrees. Winds will remain light but could gust up to 20 mph in the afternoon.

Saturday will bring partly sunny skies with a high near 27, offering a brief break from the snow. Overnight lows will hover around 24 degrees. By Sunday, temperatures will climb to the mid-30s under mostly cloudy skies, signaling the start of a gradual warm-up.

Looking ahead to Monday, mixed precipitation is expected in the morning, transitioning to rain by afternoon. Highs will approach 40 degrees, marking a significant shift from the week’s bitter cold.

Drivers should remain cautious of slick roads, especially Thursday night and early Friday. Stay updated on changing conditions and prepare for fluctuating temperatures throughout the weekend.
