Michigan Weather: Isolated Lake Effect Showers, Cooler Breezy Days Ahead for Southeast

Detroit, MI — Southeast Michigan residents should prepare for cooler and breezy conditions early this week, with a chance of isolated lake effect showers mainly affecting the Thumb region. According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Detroit, temperatures will hover between the high 60s and low 70s through Wednesday, with lows dipping into the 40s at night.

The forecast highlights partly cloudy skies today with highs between 68 and 73 degrees. Cooler conditions are expected to persist on Tuesday, with temperatures ranging from 66 to 70 degrees. The NWS notes that while most areas will remain dry, lake effect showers could develop over the Thumb.

As the week progresses, temperatures are expected to gradually warm. Wednesday will see mostly sunny skies with highs reaching 76 degrees. By Thursday, the region will experience warmer and sunnier conditions, with highs in the upper 70s. Looking ahead to the weekend, temperatures will continue to rise, with highs reaching the 80s by Saturday and Sunday.

NWS advises boaters on Lake Huron to exercise caution, as a Small Craft Advisory remains in effect until 4 PM Tuesday. Winds are expected to reach 25 knots, with waves up to 12 feet.
