Frenchtown Township, MI – A structure fire early Monday morning resulted in the total loss of a Red Lobster restaurant in Monroe County.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, dispatchers received a 911 call at 2:15 a.m. reporting smoke at the Red Lobster located at 1553 N. Dixie Highway in Frenchtown Township. Deputies arriving on the scene confirmed visible flames inside the restaurant. No injuries have been reported.
The Frenchtown Township Fire Department led the suppression efforts, with support from departments in Ash, Berlin, Estral Beach, Exeter, LaSalle, Monroe townships, and the City of Monroe Public Safety Department. Fire officials confirmed the building is considered a complete loss.
A preliminary investigation by the Monroe County Fire Investigation Team has not revealed any signs of foul play. Investigators from both the county and township fire departments are continuing to examine the cause of the blaze.
