Macomb Township, MI – A Michigan man was arrested Monday after deputies responded to a report of a dog being abused inside a camper van.
According to the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrived at a fast-food restaurant on Hall Road around 11:27 a.m. A witness claimed the suspect, Corbin Miller, 25, from Manistee, struck the puppy multiple times with a cylindrical object.
Deputies found Macomb County Animal Control at the scene. Miller allegedly refused to roll down his window, exit the vehicle, or release the puppy. Officers eventually gained access and discovered “Maeby,” a 3-month-old German pointer mix, with visible leg injuries. The puppy yelped when handled.
Miller remained uncooperative and was taken into custody. He was arraigned in 41A District Court on felony charges, including animal torture and assaulting officers. His bond was set at $100,000 cash/surety.
Animal Control Chief Randazzo confirmed Maeby suffered a skull fracture, pelvic girdle fracture, and femur fracture. The puppy is stable and awaiting surgery. Miller remains in Macomb County Jail.
