Detroit, Mich. – Southeast Michigan residents can expect a brief break from summer humidity after a muggy Wednesday with spotty storms. Temperatures today will top out between 81 and 86 degrees, with a 10–20% chance of isolated afternoon or evening showers, mainly north and west of Detroit. Lows tonight will settle into the upper 50s to mid-60s.

According to the National Weather Service in White Lake, drier air moves in Thursday, bringing mostly sunny skies, highs in the upper 70s to low 80s, and far more comfortable conditions. Friday will stay dry and seasonable with highs from 84 to 88 degrees and lighter winds.

Heat and humidity build again over the weekend. Saturday will climb into the upper 80s and low 90s, and Sunday will be the warmest, with highs around 91 and a 30–40% chance of afternoon or evening thunderstorms. The warm, sticky air could make outdoor events uncomfortable and lead to brief heavy downpours.

Residents should take advantage of the cooler air Thursday and Friday before the weekend heat returns. Storm chances increase again late Sunday and could extend into early next week.
