Grand Rapids, MI – A Winter Storm Watch remains in effect for parts of Michigan from late tonight through late Monday night, with up to a foot of snow expected to create hazardous travel conditions.
The National Weather Service (NWS) predicts local snow accumulations of 8 to 12 inches or more, primarily south of Holland, impacting areas including Muskegon, Grand Haven, Jenison, South Haven, Holland, Ludington, and Hart. The snow is expected to begin late tonight and persist into Monday night.
According to the NWS, the storm could disrupt both the Monday morning and evening commutes, making roads slippery and travel difficult.
In southwest Michigan, including Cass, Northern Berrien, and Southern Berrien Counties, another Winter Storm Watch is in effect from Monday morning through Tuesday morning. Lake effect snow could result in accumulations of 5 to 8 inches, with rapidly changing visibility and road conditions across the region.
Residents are urged to monitor weather updates and prepare for potential delays. Motorists should exercise caution, allowing extra travel time and ensuring vehicles are winter-ready.
