Holland, MI – The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a woman captured in two photos from 2004, part of an ongoing investigation tied to a cold case.
The woman, referred to as a “witness,” is now believed to be between 28 and 33 years old, based on age estimates at the time the photos were taken. In the images, she is seen wearing a navy blue Champion sweatshirt, seated at a table in what appears to be a home setting.
According to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, the photos were taken approximately 20 years ago, but the woman has yet to be identified despite prior efforts. Investigators believe she may have crucial information relevant to a case from that period and are renewing their call to the public to help solve the mystery.
Detective Bytwerk, who is leading the effort, encourages anyone who recognizes the individual to come forward. Tips can be submitted anonymously through Silent Observer at www.occda.org/silent-observer or by phone at (877) 88-SILENT. Those wishing to speak directly with law enforcement can contact Detective Bytwerk at 616-738-4019.
Authorities emphasize that identifying the woman could provide valuable context and potentially new leads in a long-standing investigation.
