Miami, FL – Residents of South Florida should prepare for a chilly Friday morning as temperatures are forecast to dip into the low 40s inland and upper 40s to low 50s along the coast. Northerly winds will also increase the chill, and those near the beaches should heed warnings of dangerous rip currents through the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service, Thursday night will see lows of 42 degrees in interior areas like Palmdale and Immokalee. Miami and Fort Lauderdale will experience lows near 50 degrees. Daytime highs Friday are expected to reach the low 70s with mostly sunny skies, offering some relief from the cold mornings.
In addition to the cold temperatures, coastal residents are urged to avoid swimming in the Atlantic. Rip currents, driven by strong winds and hazardous marine conditions, remain a significant risk. Seas are expected to range between 5 and 7 feet, creating dangerous conditions for boaters as well.
Looking ahead, temperatures will gradually warm into the weekend. By Sunday, highs in South Florida are forecast to approach 75 degrees with mostly sunny skies. Nighttime lows will rise into the upper 60s. The warming trend will continue into next week, with Monday’s highs nearing 77 degrees.
Residents should dress in layers and avoid extended exposure to cold weather overnight. Boaters and swimmers are advised to monitor updates and avoid hazardous conditions.
