Miami, Florida – Miami residents can expect sweltering afternoon heat paired with the chance of scattered thunderstorms Monday, as temperatures climb into the lower 90s across South Florida. Inland areas face the greatest risk of storm activity late in the day.
According to the National Weather Service in Miami, high temperatures will reach 90°F in Miami and Fort Lauderdale, 91°F in West Palm Beach, and up to 92°F in Naples. Isolated coastal showers are possible through late morning, followed by scattered thunderstorms developing inland through the evening.
The heat and humidity could make it feel closer to 100°F in some areas, especially away from the coast. Residents in Broward and Miami-Dade counties should prepare for sudden downpours, brief gusty winds, and minor street flooding during the afternoon commute.
Drivers are urged to slow down on slick roads and avoid flooded intersections. Those working outdoors should take frequent breaks, stay hydrated, and seek shade during peak heating hours.
This round of summerlike weather is expected to linger into Tuesday, with another chance for afternoon storms and highs in the upper 80s to low 90s.
More updates are expected later today if thunderstorms intensify.
