MIAMI, Fla. – South Florida beaches are under a Coastal Flood Advisory through Wednesday evening, as high surf and persistent onshore winds continue to push seawater inland across coastal Palm Beach and Broward counties. Beachgoers and residents near the water are urged to use extreme caution.

According to the National Weather Service in Miami, the advisory remains in effect until 8 p.m. Wednesday, with a high rip current risk lasting through the evening. Minor coastal flooding is already being reported in low-lying areas and beach parks, especially during high tide.

Roads and parking lots near the coast could briefly flood, and isolated closures are possible. Officials advise avoiding driving through standing water and protecting flood-prone property. Swimmers should remain near lifeguards and stay out of the surf if rip currents are present. Even strong swimmers can be swept offshore by the powerful current.

Conditions are expected to gradually improve late Wednesday night, but marine hazards could linger into Thursday if winds remain elevated. More updates from the National Weather Service will follow as conditions evolve.
