MANHATTAN, IL — A Metra train collided with a car in Manhattan, Illinois, on Tuesday evening, leaving one driver with non-life-threatening injuries. The incident occurred at around 7 p.m. at a crossing on Cedar Road, south of Delaney Road.

According to the Manhattan Fire Protection District, the train struck the car as it was crossing the tracks. The driver of the car suffered injuries but was reported to be in stable condition. Despite the impact, none of the five train passengers sustained significant injuries. All five declined medical treatment at the scene.

Will County Sheriff’s deputies arrived to assist with the incident. Emergency personnel quickly cleared the area, ensuring safety and restoring traffic flow. Officials have yet to release details regarding the cause of the collision or the identities of those involved.
