The National Weather Service (NWS) in Memphis has issued a Heat Advisory, with heat indices predicted to reach between 105-110 degrees until 7 PM. Additionally, an Excessive Heat Warning is in effect for regions where the heat index is expected to surpass 110 degrees.
According to the NWS, although no new heat warnings are expected for tomorrow, temperatures will remain high, particularly during the afternoon hours. Residents are advised to stay hydrated, avoid strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day, and take regular breaks in shaded or air-conditioned environments.
The forecast for Memphis shows temperatures hovering in the mid-90s over the next several days, peaking at 97 degrees by Tuesday. Air quality remains a concern, with an index reading of 139, which is categorized as unhealthy for sensitive groups.
