Watford City, N.D. – A two-vehicle crash south of Watford City left a 63-year-old woman dead Saturday afternoon.

According to the North Dakota State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 1:33 p.m. on April 25 at the intersection of Highway 85 and 23rd Street Northwest, about one mile south of Watford City in McKenzie County.

Authorities said a 2017 Peterbilt semi was traveling south on Highway 85 while a 1983 Jeep CJ-7 was heading west on 23rd Street Northwest. As the semi approached the intersection, the Jeep allegedly entered the roadway and was struck in a broadside collision.

The driver of the Jeep, a 63-year-old woman from Watford City, sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash. She was wearing a seat belt, according to officials. The driver of the semi, a 62-year-old man from Dickinson, was not injured. He was also wearing a seat belt.
