Maury County, TN – A two-month narcotics investigation has resulted in the seizure of thousands of suspected illegal pills, firearms and nearly $58,000 in cash, according to the Maury County Sheriff’s Department.
According to the Maury County Sheriff’s Department, members of the Vice & Narcotics Unit executed search warrants on Friday, July 10, bringing what officials described as a significant drug trafficking investigation to a close.
During the operation, deputies seized more than 2,000 pills, including approximately 1,500 suspected fentanyl or fentanyl-laced pills, along with nearly $58,000 in U.S. currency, multiple firearms, a GMC truck, and quantities of suspected cocaine and other illegal narcotics.
The sheriff’s department said the investigation was conducted with assistance from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Cybercrime and Digital Evidence Unit (CDEU).
Authorities did not identify any suspects or announce criminal charges in the release. Additional information is expected to be released as the investigation and any related prosecutions move forward.
The Maury County Sheriff’s Department said the operation reflects its continued efforts to combat drug trafficking and remove dangerous narcotics from the community.
As with any criminal investigation, any future charges would be allegations, and any defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
