Boston, MA – Massachusetts residents should prepare for a stormy end to the week as remnants of Tropical Storm Debby approach, bringing heavy rain and potential tornadoes. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Slight Risk (2 out of 4) for excessive rainfall in western Massachusetts and northwest Connecticut, with localized flooding a possibility.

According to the NWS, the heaviest rain is expected Friday, with the potential for tropical downpours that could lead to flash flooding in some areas. The risk for tornadoes, though lower, cannot be ignored, particularly in the vicinity of I-395. These tornadoes are likely to be brief but could cause damage if they occur.

The forecast for Boston shows an 80% chance of rain today, with temperatures reaching 84°F. Saturday will see a slight reduction in rain chances to 35%, with temperatures rising to 86°F. The storm system is expected to move out by Sunday, leaving behind drier and cooler conditions, with highs around 83°F.

Early next week, temperatures will be milder, hovering in the upper 70s to low 80s, under partly cloudy skies. Residents are advised to stay informed on weather developments and exercise caution during potential severe weather conditions.
