Boston, MA – A quick round of snow will move into the Boston area tonight, bringing slick roads and a wintry mix before transitioning into rain Thursday morning.
According to the National Weather Service, a slight chance of snow begins late Wednesday night, with lows around 34°F and light east winds. Snow showers will persist into the early morning hours Thursday before mixing with rain between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Accumulations are expected to remain light, but untreated roads and sidewalks could become slick during the morning commute.
Thursday’s high will reach 44°F under mostly cloudy skies, with winds shifting from the east at 6 to 8 mph. By Thursday night, temperatures will drop to the mid-30s, keeping roads damp but preventing significant refreezing.
Friday will bring partly sunny skies and a high of 48°F, offering a break from the wintry mix. Looking ahead to the weekend, Boston will experience a noticeable warm-up, with highs reaching 58°F on Saturday and 60°F by Sunday. However, increasing clouds and gusty winds will accompany the milder conditions, with rain chances returning late Sunday into Monday.
Drivers along I-90, Route 128, and local roadways should use caution tonight and early Thursday due to potential slick spots. Warmer temperatures by the afternoon will help improve conditions, leading into a milder spring weekend.
