Boston, MA – A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Western Franklin and Western Hampshire Counties from 9 p.m. Tuesday to 7 a.m. Thursday, with snow and strong winds expected to create hazardous travel conditions.

According to the National Weather Service in Boston/Norton, snowfall between 3 to 5 inches is forecasted, accompanied by wind gusts reaching 45 mph. The storm will impact areas including Charlemont and Chesterfield, with dangerous road conditions anticipated throughout Wednesday’s morning and evening commutes.

Officials warn that slippery roads and reduced visibility could make travel difficult. Additionally, strong winds may cause downed tree branches, increasing the risk of power outages. Travelers are urged to drive cautiously and allow extra time for commutes. Ice accumulation may be particularly hazardous on bridges and overpasses. Residents should secure outdoor objects to prevent wind damage and prepare for potential power outages by charging devices and having emergency supplies on hand.

The advisory remains in effect until Thursday at 7 a.m.. Stay updated with the latest weather alerts at weather.gov/box.
