Boston, MA – A burst of winter weather will make a brief return to Massachusetts on Wednesday, bringing light snow showers to parts of the state before temperatures remain cooler than average for the rest of the week.

According to the National Weather Service, a weak system will move through overnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning, producing light snow across the Boston metro area. Accumulations will be minimal, but commuters should watch for slick spots on roads, especially on major routes like I-90 and I-95. Morning temperatures will hover near freezing before warming to the mid-40s by the afternoon.

By Thursday, temperatures will remain cool with highs around 44°F, and a mix of clouds and occasional rain showers is possible. Winds from the east at 5-10 mph will make it feel slightly colder.

Looking ahead, Friday will be mostly dry, but a shift in the weather pattern will bring increasing chances of rain on Saturday and Sunday. Highs will climb to the upper 50s by Sunday, signaling the gradual return of spring-like conditions.

Residents should plan for a chilly and possibly slick Wednesday morning but can expect a warmer trend heading into the weekend. Stay updated on road conditions and dress in layers to stay comfortable throughout the changing weather.
