Boston, MA – The National Weather Service reported a record-breaking July for Boston, with temperatures reaching unprecedented levels. This extreme heat is expected to extend into August, keeping residents on high alert.

Boston’s mean temperature for July was 76.0°F, surpassing the previous high of 74.1°F set in 2019. The city recorded a peak temperature of 95°F on July 6, marking one of the hottest days of the month. The average low temperature was also higher than usual, at 62°F, indicating warmer nights.

According to the National Weather Service, Boston experienced 3.27 inches of precipitation in July, below the normal 3.32 inches. Despite this, the intense heat remains the primary concern for the city.

The forecast for the upcoming week predicts continued high temperatures. Today, Boston will see a high of 92°F, followed by 91°F on Friday. The weekend may bring some relief with scattered thunderstorms on Saturday and Sunday, lowering temperatures to the mid-80s.
