Providence, RI – The National Weather Service reported that Providence experienced one of the hottest Julys on record, with temperatures soaring to unprecedented levels. This intense heat is expected to continue into August.

Providence’s mean temperature for July was 75.3°F, breaking the previous record of 74.4°F set in 2020. The city recorded a high of 91°F on July 15, marking one of the hottest days of the month. The average low temperature was also significantly higher, at 67.9°F, indicating warmer nights.

According to the National Weather Service, Providence also saw increased precipitation, with 3.58 inches of rain, above the normal 2.91 inches. Despite this, the extreme heat remains the primary concern for residents.

The forecast for the upcoming week predicts continued high temperatures. Today, Providence will see a high of 90°F, followed by 89°F on Friday. The weekend may bring some relief with scattered thunderstorms on Saturday and Sunday, reducing temperatures to the mid-80s.
