Boston, MA – A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for parts of Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island from 10 p.m. Wednesday to 10 a.m. Thursday, bringing a mix of snow and ice that could impact the Thursday morning commute.

According to the National Weather Service, affected areas could see 1 to 3 inches of snow and up to a tenth of an inch of ice accumulation. The advisory includes cities such as Hartford, Worcester, Springfield, Lowell, and Providence.

Drivers should expect slippery road conditions, especially during overnight and early morning hours. Commuters are urged to allow extra travel time and drive with caution. Untreated roads and sidewalks may become hazardous.

This winter storm follows a pattern of recent snow and freezing rain across the Northeast, adding to already challenging road conditions. Temperatures are expected to hover near freezing, making ice accumulation a significant concern.

Residents are advised to check local forecasts, avoid unnecessary travel, and prepare for possible delays. Stay updated with the latest weather alerts at weather.gov/box.
