Albany, NY – Snow and freezing rain are creating hazardous conditions across eastern New York, western Massachusetts, and northwestern Connecticut. A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 p.m. as mixed precipitation continues.
According to the National Weather Service, 1 to 3 inches of snow and sleet are expected, along with a light glaze of ice. Snowfall rates could reach 1 inch per hour this morning, worsening road conditions.
Drivers should be prepared for slick roads, especially on bridges and untreated surfaces. Snow will transition into a wintry mix of sleet and freezing rain by the afternoon before changing to rain later in the evening.
Travelers should monitor conditions and use caution while driving.
