Washington, D.C. – Freezing rain and sleet are causing dangerous road conditions across D.C., Maryland, and Virginia this morning. A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m.
According to the National Weather Service, up to 1 inch of sleet and ice accumulations up to one-tenth of an inch are expected. Roads, sidewalks, and bridges will be especially slick and hazardous.
Drivers should exercise caution and check for road conditions before traveling. Warmer temperatures later this morning will help transition precipitation into rain, improving travel conditions.
