Baltimore, MD – Residents across Maryland should prepare for heavy rainfall Saturday night into Sunday, with localized flooding possible in low-lying areas. The National Weather Service reports a strong weather system bringing steady rain and gusty winds through Sunday morning.

According to the National Weather Service, tonight’s rain could result in up to an inch of precipitation, with showers continuing Sunday as temperatures climb into the 60s. Low-lying roads, including parts of I-95 and local Baltimore streets, may experience water accumulation. Drivers are urged to use caution and avoid flooded roadways.

Saturday night’s low will remain around 47 degrees, with mild temperatures continuing Sunday. Winds could gust up to 26 mph, making outdoor plans risky. By Sunday evening, additional rainfall is expected, further saturating the ground and raising the flood risk.

Looking ahead, Monday offers a break in the rain, with mostly clear skies and a high near 59 degrees. Tuesday may see another round of rain before sunny, cooler conditions arrive midweek, bringing relief on New Year’s Day with clear skies and a high near 51.

Residents should secure outdoor items tonight and monitor local forecasts for updates. Avoid unnecessary travel in areas prone to flooding, and stay informed via local emergency alerts.
