Baltimore, MD – Maryland residents will enjoy a warm and sunny start to the week, but a shift in weather patterns will bring rain and possible thunderstorms by midweek. Monday and Tuesday will see mild temperatures in the 40s and 50s, but strong winds and storms could impact travel and outdoor plans by Wednesday.
According to the National Weather Service, Monday will be sunny with a high of 43°F and light winds from the northwest. By Tuesday, temperatures will climb to 55°F with mostly sunny skies, making for a pleasant early March day. However, a low-pressure system moving into the region will bring increasing cloud cover Tuesday night, leading to a 30% chance of showers after 1 a.m.
Wednesday will bring the most significant weather change, with widespread showers and possible thunderstorms. High temperatures will reach 62°F, but strong gusty winds and heavy rain could create hazardous conditions on roads, including I-95 and local highways. The National Weather Service warns of a 100% chance of precipitation, meaning residents should prepare for wet conditions throughout the day.
Wednesday night will continue with rain showers and a 70% chance of lingering precipitation. By Thursday, the system will clear out, bringing partly sunny skies and a high of 51°F. Temperatures will cool slightly into the weekend, with Friday’s high near 52°F under mostly cloudy skies and a chance of rain returning by Saturday.
Residents should take advantage of the sunny weather early this week before storms move in. If traveling Wednesday, allow extra time and stay updated on forecasts for possible severe weather alerts.
