Pittsburgh, PA – A mix of winter chill and spring warmth is set to impact western Pennsylvania this week, bringing fluctuating temperatures, rain, and even snow. Residents should prepare for a rollercoaster of conditions as the region transitions toward spring.

According to the National Weather Service, Monday will bring sunny skies with a high near 43°F, a calm start before an active midweek pattern. By Tuesday night, rain is expected to move in, with a 90% chance of showers and temperatures reaching 59°F during the day. Wednesday will be even warmer at 62°F but comes with a 100% chance of rain.

Colder air returns Wednesday night, bringing a mix of rain and snow with a 70% chance of precipitation. Thursday could see snow in the morning before clearing, with a high near 37°F. The week ends with partly sunny skies Friday and a high of 46°F.

Drivers should be cautious on area roads, including I-376 and I-79, as wet conditions could create slick spots, especially Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Those traveling should monitor forecasts for updated precipitation chances.

Be sure to dress in layers as the region transitions between winter’s final grip and hints of spring. Rain gear will be essential midweek, but sunglasses will come in handy for the sunnier days ahead.
