PIKESVILLE, MD – Maryland State Police said three men face charges after being arrested in connection with a task force investigation into illegal car rallies. Multiple firearms and ammunition were seized during the operation.
According to Maryland State Police, the accused are identified as Malachi James, 21, of Temple Hills; Khadeem George, 20; and Kareem Isaroon, 50, both of Indian Head. James allegedly took a motor vehicle unlawfully and faces firearm possession and traffic-related charges. George allegedly took a vehicle unlawfully and was also charged with possessing a firearm as a minor. Isaroon allegedly possessed ammunition illegally.
Authorities said James was taken to the Howard County Detention Center and later released. George and Isaroon were transported to the Charles County Detention Center, where George was later released on bond while Isaroon remains held without bond.
The investigation began June 29 when the Maryland Car Rally Task Force responded to a large-scale illegal car rally in Baltimore involving about 300 people. Police reported that during the event, a Dodge Durango attempted to flee a traffic stop. Officers later discovered two loaded firearms and ammunition inside the vehicle.
On Wednesday, Sept. 3, the task force, with assistance from multiple agencies, executed search warrants at three Prince George’s County residences. Police reported recovering additional firearms in Indian Head, Clinton, and Temple Hills.
The Maryland Car Rally Task Force includes Maryland State Police, the Maryland Transportation Authority Police, and local police departments across several counties. Officials said the ongoing initiative is aimed at curbing illegal car rallies and related criminal activity statewide.
