Dover, DE – A Chestertown, Maryland man was arrested Friday after allegedly assaulting emergency medical personnel at the Phish Mondegreen Festival in Dover. The incident took place on August 16, 2024, around 10:30 p.m., when troopers were alerted to 26-year-old William Urspruch’s erratic behavior.

Under the influence and requiring medical attention, Urspruch allegedly punched one EMT and bit another during treatment, causing minor injuries. He was subsequently taken to a local hospital before being transported to Troop 3 for processing.

According to Delaware State Police, Urspruch was charged with second-degree assault, a felony, for injuring an EMT, and offensive touching. After being arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 7, he was released on a $3,000 secured bond.

The Phish Mondegreen Festival, a major event in Dover, continued as scheduled, but the incident underscores the risks emergency personnel face even in controlled environments. Urspruch’s actions have led to serious charges, reflecting the gravity of the situation.
