Baltimore, MD – A cold weather advisory is in effect for much of Maryland through Wednesday morning, with temperatures plunging into the single digits and wind chills near zero. Officials are urging residents to dress in layers, wear hats and gloves, and limit outdoor exposure to avoid hypothermia or frostbite.

According to the National Weather Service, the advisory covers the Baltimore metro area, including areas along the I-95 corridor. Temperatures are expected to climb slightly Wednesday afternoon, reaching a high of 21°F. Calm winds will persist into the evening, with a low of 15°F forecast overnight.

Thursday will bring partly sunny skies and a high of 32°F, followed by a chance of snow showers late Thursday night, particularly in the mountains. While snow accumulation is expected to be minimal, drivers are encouraged to plan for slick conditions, especially along major roadways.

By Friday, conditions will remain cold but sunny, with highs around 33°F and lows dipping back into the teens. A gradual warming trend is anticipated into the weekend, with Saturday’s temperatures peaking at 36°F and Sunday climbing into the mid-40s.

Residents should continue monitoring updates and exercise caution during morning commutes, particularly as icy patches may develop overnight.
