Baltimore, MD – Maryland residents are urged to prepare for dangerously cold weather tonight, with wind chills plunging below zero in some areas. Gusts up to 40 mph in higher elevations and along the I-95 corridor are expected to create hazardous conditions, especially for travelers.

According to the National Weather Service, the wind chill will dip to -10 to -15 degrees in higher elevations, while the rest of the region faces single-digit lows. A Cold Weather Advisory remains in effect, urging residents to limit outdoor exposure and protect against frostbite and hypothermia.

Travelers on I-95 and nearby roadways should be cautious, as strong gusts can create difficult driving conditions, especially for high-profile vehicles. Tonight’s winds are expected to ease by Wednesday morning, with a forecasted high of 34 degrees and sunny skies tomorrow.

Looking ahead, Thursday will bring partly sunny skies with highs near 42, followed by sunny weather on Friday and highs reaching the mid-40s. However, rain is expected Saturday, with temperatures climbing to 46 degrees.

Residents should dress in layers, check on vulnerable neighbors, and bring pets indoors tonight. Local shelters are open for those in need of warmth. For updated weather alerts, visit the National Weather Service website or follow them on social media.

Be prepared for rapidly changing conditions this week and ensure you have an emergency kit in your car if traveling.
