Caribou, ME – Snow and rain showers will continue to impact central and northern Maine through Tuesday evening, as cloudy conditions persist across the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Caribou, scattered precipitation will affect areas such as Presque Isle, Houlton, and Van Buren, with occasional heavier snow showers possible during the afternoon. These may include graupel (snow pellets), particularly over higher elevations and far northern zones. High temperatures Tuesday are expected to reach the upper 30s to low 40s across much of the region, with overnight lows dipping into the upper 20s.

Wednesday will remain mostly cloudy with light snow and rain showers continuing in northern Maine. Thursday and Friday are expected to bring partly sunny skies and seasonable conditions before a cold front arrives Friday night. That system will introduce cooler air heading into the weekend, raising the potential for snow late Sunday into Monday.

Drivers are encouraged to monitor local road conditions and exercise caution, particularly in higher elevations where snow showers may reduce visibility. Residents should prepare for shifting conditions and stay alert for updated advisories as colder air returns by the weekend.
