Caribou, Maine – After a chilly start to the morning, temperatures across inland Maine will climb into the mid-70s Tuesday, kicking off a stretch of sunny, summerlike weather through midweek.
According to the National Weather Service in Caribou, skies will remain mostly sunny with warmer conditions Wednesday as highs surge into the mid-80s across central and northern Maine. Caribou, Houlton, and Dover-Foxcroft are among areas expected to top 84°F by late afternoon. Coastal cities like Bar Harbor and Eastport will remain a bit cooler in the 60s and 70s.
By Thursday, humidity will rise sharply, and skies will transition from sun to clouds as a warm front moves in. Afternoon thunderstorms are possible, particularly across inland regions, with the potential for heavy downpours. Drivers and outdoor workers should monitor conditions closely, especially in areas like Lincoln, Presque Isle, and Greenville.
Smoke from Canadian wildfires could create hazy skies later in the week. Meanwhile, Maine’s rivers and lakes remain dangerously cold—boaters are urged to wear life jackets and stay near shore.
Looking ahead, scattered showers are likely again this weekend as another storm system moves in late Saturday into Sunday.
