Marine City, MI – A Marine City woman is facing multiple felony charges after Macomb County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested her in connection to an alleged embezzlement and forgery scheme uncovered during a months-long investigation.
According to the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office, detectives executed a search warrant around 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2026, at a home on Mabel Street in Marine City. The suspect, identified as 38-year-old Misti Hahn, was taken into custody without incident.
Investigators allege Hahn had previously been terminated from her employer for forging and cashing checks. Despite her termination, authorities say she allegedly continued similar fraudulent activities over several months. The investigation found she allegedly forged company checks and made unauthorized purchases using the former employer’s credit cards.
During the search of Hahn’s residence, detectives reported locating ledgers, checks, and financial documents tied to the business, along with personal information belonging to employees and customers. According to officials, additional electronic devices containing potential evidence were also seized by the Evidence Detection K9 unit.
Hahn was arraigned later that day in 41B District Court in Clinton Township. She faces multiple charges, including seven counts of uttering and publishing, seven counts of forgery, six counts of possession of a financial transaction device, and one count of embezzlement involving between $20,000 and $50,000.
Authorities said Hahn was issued a $100,000 personal bond and is required to wear a tether as part of her release conditions.
The case remains under investigation, and officials have not released further details at this time.
