LUBBOCK, Texas – West Texas is set for a stretch of calm, sunny weather as high pressure keeps skies clear and temperatures well above normal through midweek. The National Weather Service in Lubbock reports that overnight lows will dip into the 40s under light southwest winds before quickly rebounding into the upper 70s and 80s by day.
According to the Weather Service, Monday will bring afternoon highs between 76°F and 83°F across the South Plains, with warmer conditions off the Caprock where readings could approach the mid-80s. Tuesday is expected to be the warmest day of the week, with widespread highs in the low to upper 80s—nearly 15 degrees above early-November averages.
Winds will stay light, generally 5–10 mph, and no rain is expected through Wednesday. The ongoing dry spell will continue to elevate fire weather concerns, particularly across open rangelands and fields west of Lubbock. Forecasters note that a weak front late Wednesday may bring slightly cooler air but no significant precipitation.
Residents can expect ideal conditions for outdoor activities, with clear nights, bright afternoons, and low humidity persisting through much of the week.
