Lake Charles, LA – Strong winds, a potential storm system, and flash flood risks are expected to impact parts of Louisiana and southeast Texas through the weekend. A Wind Advisory is currently in effect for much of the region, with gusts reaching up to 30 mph.

According to the National Weather Service in Lake Charles, these gusty northwest winds will persist throughout Wednesday before easing overnight as high pressure moves in. A Small Craft Advisory is also in effect for coastal waters, where waves of 6 to 9 feet could create hazardous conditions for boaters.

Looking ahead, forecasters warn of an incoming low-pressure system on Saturday that could bring thunderstorms and heavy rainfall to the area. With soil already saturated from previous rain, there is a marginal risk for isolated flash flooding, particularly in urban and poor drainage areas. However, the severity of the storms remains uncertain.

Residents are advised to secure outdoor objects, use caution on the roads, and stay updated on weather alerts. Those with outdoor plans this weekend should monitor forecasts closely as the storm system develops.
