Shreveport, LA – A surge of spring storms is brewing across northwest Louisiana, bringing days of heavy rain, thunder, and lightning through late Saturday night.
According to the National Weather Service, Shreveport will face severe thunderstorms Friday afternoon into Saturday with a 100% chance of rain and the potential for damaging winds and hail. Residents should prepare for travel delays and the possibility of localized flooding, especially along the I-20 corridor. Gusts may exceed 30 mph during Friday’s storm peaks.

Highs will reach near 87°F Friday, with gusty southeast winds intensifying ahead of the front.
Saturday’s high near 78°F accompanies the strongest storms, with overnight lows dipping to 51°F. Lightning, flooding, and high wind risks persist until late Saturday.
By Sunday, skies will begin to clear with a high near 68°F, followed by a stretch of mild spring weather. Monday and Tuesday are expected to be mostly sunny, with highs in the upper 60s to mid-70s.
