Louisiana, LA – Severe winter weather has led to interstate closures across the state, affecting key travel routes. Officials warn of worsening road conditions due to snow and ice.
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced the closure of I-10 from Laplace Exit 209 to US 190B, and I-55 from I-10 to Exit 22 (Ponchatoula). Closures began at 4 a.m. Tuesday, January 21.
According to the DOTD, icy conditions are making many roads impassable. Crews continue monitoring state bridges and highways for additional risks. Motorists are urged to avoid travel and remain off impacted roadways.
